This IP is a part of LabVIEW FPGA RF Communications Library available on NI Labs.

This example demodulates a frequency modulated(FM) radio signal.

The details of the FM demodulator implemented in this example are as follows:

1. The IP returns the rate of change of phase of the input signal.

2. The output of the IP needs to scaled by a factor= (sampling frequency/ frequency deviation)/2.

3. Initial latency= 17 cycles

4. Maximum clock rate= 78 MHz

5. Device Utilization Summary:

Number of BUFGMUXs           &nbsp ;     7         out of     16        43%

Number of External IOBs            403     out of     556       72%

Number of LOCed IOBs            403     out of     403      100%

Number of RAMB16s                     34       out of     136      25%

Number of SLICEs            & nbsp;          2099   out of     13696  15%

Other Requirements:

This example requires NI PCI-5640R as target hardware and <span class="link-external">[NI 5640R driver (version 1.2)|http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/978/lang/en].

The IP uses Fixed-point math library which can be downloaded from <span class="link-external">[NI Labs|http://www.ni.com/labs/].
