Take advantage of the following resources to get started with and troubleshoot your NI LabVIEW graphical system design applications:
LabVIEW Help
FIRST Community
NI Developer Zone
KnowledgeBase
Use LabVIEW Help to explore LabVIEW programming concepts, step-by-step instructions for using LabVIEW, and reference information on LabVIEW VIs, functions, palettes, menus, and tools. You can locate your topic of interest quickly by using the Contents, Index, and Search tabs.
To find LabVIEW Help, look under the “Resources” section of the Getting Started Window, which opens when you run LabVIEW.
You also can find it from within LabVIEW by selecting Help >> Search the LabVIEW Help… in the toolbar on either the Front Panel or the Block Diagram.
The FIRST Community is the central location for FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) getting-started topics, such as the NI CompactRIO next-generation FRC robot controller.
By searching the FIRST Community content for your specific topic of interest, you can access tutorials, example code, and support for your FRC projects as well as add your own content. And if you have any questions for community members or NI applications engineers, you can post them on the discussion forums.
Much like the FIRST Community, NI Developer Zone features technical tutorials, example code, and discussion forums on LabVIEW and other NI products. Designed for test and measurement industry developers, these resources can help you get started and implement common test and measurement applications.
NI Developer Zone includes a large library of example programs, tutorial information, and technical presentations for learning more about NI products. It also offers product advisors to help you find system components such as sensors, motors, and cameras. In addition, NI Developer Zone is a great place to search for sample code, industry tutorials, and case studies on CompactRIO to help with your FRC projects.
Because of its community format, NI Developer Zone contains content from many different sources, including NI engineers, independent developers, and content partners. Like the FIRST Community, you can ask questions and share ideas and source code.
If you encounter an error while developing with LabVIEW, use KnowledgeBase articles to troubleshoot. Created by applications engineers and divided into software and hardware categories, these articles address commons issues and questions. In fact, applications engineers use these documents on a daily basis to answer customer questions.
With the search option, you can filter through thousands of documents easily and quickly to help you get started, research specific topics, and even resolve error codes.
