Updated 1/15/2009 The LabVIEW Robotics Programming Guide for the FIRST Robotics Competition describes how to create a robotics program in LabVIEW.
Chapter 5 Accelerometer SetGain.vi and Chapter 20 Gyro SetGain.vi seem to be cross coupled. Both talk about heading and volts per degree.
In section 3, step 6, the document has you set the IP address to 192.168.0.90. This is the same address that the camera uses, and won't work. It should be anything but .90 (the control system manual example is .6).
LabVIEW update 2 has an updated version of this document. Is the plan to always keep this page updated, or should teams refer to the version installed with the update for the latest version?
I tried to get a copy of the Programming Guide printed at work, and they refuse, pointing out that the document is copyrighted and I have no statement on a webpage or in an email stating that I can legally reprint the programming guide, user's guides, tutorials, or other documents offered for the FRC teams. Is it possible to add a comment to the webpage(s) authorizing FRC team members to print copies for use in the competition? Or add such a comment to the email sent to each person when they load and register LabVIEW from the DVDs supplied in the KOP?
Just want to make sure everyone is aware of the legal blurb at the bottom - it has helped solve similar issues ![]()
Thanks!
I'm not sure how the Legal disclaimer at the bottom helps, although I am not a lawyer. It seems to absolve NI of responsibility of things posted here. For example, if I posted a pirated movie, the disclaimer absolves NI from responsibility so the MPAA would sue me, but not NI.
Since the document specifically says it may not be reproduced without written consent from NI, I think mbushroe needs to know who at NI to contact to get that written consent. The legal disclaimer below doesn't address that.
Here's another person with the same issue Printing Copyright protected NI documents
Hi sciencewhiz,
I receive your point well. I will also post to the thread you linked - thanks!
I will be working with our legal team to vet ways to resolve this.
The intent of posting this document is for folks to use it of course - hope to have a resolution soon - thanks!
In response to several requests that we have received, the letter in the document linked below permits FIRST Robotics Competition participants to print and make copies of FRC manuals provided to you by NI in connection with your participation in the competition. Thank you for your participation in the FIRST Robotics Competition.
I noticed a few typos and items that may need clarification in the document. What is the suggested procedure for submitting document corrections?
For instance:On page 3-4, the text "In the IP address text box, enter 10.xx.yy, where" should read "In the IP address text box, enter 10.xx.yy.6, where"
