Getting More than a 1000 second timeout with NI-VISA and GPIB operations.

Functional Description

This VI demonstrates how to use a longer timeout than 1000 seconds when using NI-488.2 drivers.  This specific VI will give a 2000 second timeout by using two VISA read calls and checking for errors.

 

 

Caveats and Additional Notes

This VI was written in LabVIEW 8.6 and uses NI VISA 4.4.1.  The 1000 second maximum delay only applies to GPIB communications.
