The "Getting Started with NI LabVIEW for FTC" manual that came with the 2009 FTC competiton kit describes how to build a basic robot, and it describes assembling the electrical system.
"The Grabber", is an extension of this design that incorporates an articulated Gripper Assembly for picking up and moving Noodletts (Short sections of Pool Noddles) around a playing field.
The attached zip file contains: TheGrabber1.VI (the full program code), a document that details how the code works, plus a general construction document.
This is a great starter robot to get your feet wet with TETRIX and FTC. It's also fun for FTC demonstrations.
