Does FIRST evaluation board for Labview classroom development (switches/LEDS, HS-322 servos) exist?

Dear NI,

I just returned from Atlanta where we found out that we will be using the cRIO for the controller platform next year?

Does an inexpensive evaluation board exist (NI or other) that looks something like the cRIO platform?

If not, any plans to create such an item?

Hey Marco Polo59,

Currently we are not offering evaluation boards that look something like the NI compactRIO platform. We will be positing information about when the FRC kits will be available, once FIRST finalizes this. The FIRST community will have many getting started materials, and we will be adding even more resources.

If you were interested in getting started with an example kit, you do have the option to try the kit that is for the FIRST Tech Challenge. The kit provides many sensors, servors, and other components. You will be able to program the FTC kit with the same LabVIEW software that will be used for the FIRST Robotics Challenge. However, keep in mind that the libraries and algorithms will be different. This will introduce you to many key concepts of programming sensors and other components in LabVIEW that can then be applied to the FRC kit.

I hope this is able to help. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or if I wasn't to answer everything fully.

Thanks and hope you have a great rest of the week.
