Getting error when first trying to create FRC cRio Project.

I can't get the get the FRC cRio Project to load.  I get an object referance error.

I installed the lv851.zip and the FRCLabVIEWUpdate1.0.zip without errors.

I also activated everything and got the project template to show up, but when I create a new project with that template, I get the error and none of the stuff that I should get.  See attached screenshot.

I think I must have missed something somewhere.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Darrell

You cannot install that update to the standard LV851 release.  It is intended to update the FRC LV version released on DVD with the early delivery of the control system.

Is there any way to get a link to download that version?  I don't know LabView and I was wanting to go through some of the Robotics exercises to get ready to teach the students.  We are suppose to get the early shipment, but I wanted to try to avoid learning while teaching.

-Thanks for the quick response!

We are taking the same journey.  I know C but not C++ and had a short experience with LV 15-20 years ago.  You'll probably get your early system before the FRC LV is posted.  At least I hope that it gets posted.  Otherwise the teams that are non-beta non-early-release will be standing with their hands in their pockets until kickoff.  Maybe they will allow the "haves" to supply near by "have-nots" a copy of the DVD, Copyrights may be an issue.

I started by doing the generic LV tutorials to get a feel for the program structure and attended one of the NI presentations.  I read the FRC programming guide ( http://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-2631 ) this is the PDF version.  It's 358 pages, but much of it is repeative calling sequence descriptions that can be scanned/skipped. The same information is available in the help file. That gave me a feel for the functions that we will have in FRC LV.  Team 1629 posted their LV Vis in HTML format http://beta.gearsinc.org/beta_2008-10-29/ I spent some time going over their work and the lightbulb went on last Sat. and I think that I am ready to build a basic control system using the wizards that are in the coming release.

If I can be of any help, let me know.
