Getting access to sample clock with DAQexpress

I'm using a 6210 and a 6343, I have read that they can sample from an external pulse using 'sample clock'.   I have been trying to get this functionality through the DAQExpress software with no success.
My end goal is to have the DAQ record an analogue sample whenever it see's an external pulse.    The pulses are not constant, they burst e.g. 100 pulses at 20kHz then 10 seconds and so on.
I don't think I can use trigger as this is a single event ?  so I think it is 'sample clock' that is required ? can that be accessed from DAQExpress ?

Thank you in advance for any assistance you may give

By saying it is a single event you mean it happens only once? Or is it of the same kind? Also can you please mention which version of DAQExpress you are using.

I have the same question.

I know DAQExpress allows you to trigger an acquisition from a digital event.

On the digital event analog data is digitized at rate on internal clock.

I would like to acquire analog data using an external clock.

I am using a cDAQ-9178 chassis and 9205 ADC.

Is it possible within DAQExpress to use PFI 0 as the sample clock?
