Low output power on USRP-2901

Dear community,

We are encountering an issue regarding the ouput (TX) power of both our NI USRP-2901.

We are using two laptops with one USRP connected to each and we run a software called srsLTE to emulate an LTE network on Linux. This software uses UHD (USRP Hardware Driver from Ettus Research) to flash the USRP B210 firmware that allows us to use the 2901 as a B210.

Normally, the maximum output power should be between +10 and +18 dBm but we can only perform an output power of -60dBm. The TX and RX gains of the srsLTE software are already set at their maximum value and by adding amplifiers and preamplifiers, we can increase the output power by +52dBm. See the spectrum analyzer screenshot where the output power of the USRP-2901 is measured alone in yellow and when it is measured by adding amplifiers in blue.

But we though that it is not normal to have this low level of power. So do you know how we can manage to have more output power for our USRPs ?

We already sent questions to the srsLTE team but maybe there is something to do from the side of the USRPs.

Thank you,

Simon
