We're using LabVIEW inflight

Attachment

We are using LabVIEW inflight to measure Mercury and other atmospheric constituents over the Gulf of Mexico this week. The University of Tennessee Space Institute is working for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) flying missions over the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in order to better understand how Mercury moves through the atmosphere and ecosystems. LabVIEW runs on a PXI rack installed on our Piper Navajo aircraft providing real time measurement of flight parameters and science instruments and then distributing the data over a Local Area network to Ultra Mobile Personal Computers which provide LabVIEW graphical displays to the scientists and flight crews.

subVIs for the flight instruments can be found at http://www.utsi.edu/academics/AvSys/flight_ops.htm
