Description of Project:
In the present, the testing of the relay coils, contactors and switches are
done manually. A few of its process are done using microcontroller based
programming and this causes a lot of problems during interface of high voltages
and currents. Thus the measuring of continuity and over voltage and current for
the equipments becomes difficult and tedious. This further increases the cost of
production of the hardware equipments which may not be feasible by most
consumers.
LabVIEW a virtual instrumentation software can be the best platform to
overcome the drawbacks in the manual testing methods. LabVIEW automates
most of the testing process.
The main objective of using LabVIEW is that it can be used to virtually
test the relay with the required parameters such as input voltage, current,
maximum ranges of voltage, current etc and then implemented using hardware.
This will reduce the cost; time consumed and increases the reliability and
effectiveness of the testing module.
Using LabVIEW the relay is tested automatically for every
parameter and a report is generated for every equipment tested which can be
used for future references. The report shall contain every parameter tested
which will enhance the utility of the component tested.
