Project Title: Bio-Medical signal Acquisition from human body and detection stress

Hardware & Software Used: Labview and Elvis II with Vernier Sensors, SPSS

What challenge/problem are you trying to solve through your application:

Detection of typical kind of stress in human body and its early prediction usuing its physiological signal. captured through sensors such as heart rate, spirometery, bp etc

How does your application solves the above mentioned challenge/problem:

It captures the bio medical signal and data and then with the help of statistical analysis tool with the help of physiological data acquired an predicaiton of arising stress can be detected and calibrated. This has to be in a controlled enviorment for a test subject.

The mental stress was difficult to depict as it varied from test subect . But when finally correlating the data we saw a major test subject showed a spike in stress level in one particular area which is discussed in details in the thesis attached with the same.

Description of Project:

Abstract:- The project is focused on the different types of Bio-Medical Signals that can be measured with the help of Bio-Medical Sensors and inferred through the use of software Lab-View .It is designed to have a better understanding of the Physical stress that brings changes in Human body. Different signals are taken while placing human body under stress condition to see the change in signal with the help of software platform.

The present project deals with the physiological changes that occur in the human body when the body is placed under stress. When we talk about stress it can be of any form, physical or mental. Anxiety, panic etc. are parts of mental stress while excessive exercise, daily tedious activity, and sports are part of physical stress. In this project I have tried to replicate the above form of stress in a controlled fashion over a certain period of time both physical and mental and tried to acquire physiological data from the test subject and determine the difference between their rested condition and their stressed condition. To achieve this task I have used the sensor material from Vernier and programmed a customised version of physiological activity monitoring sets of module with the help of the LabView software. LabView platform diagrammatically codes the sensors and helps in achieving data’s and processing them to get the required results need for this project. The hardware interface between the software and the sensor is the National Instruments Board known as the Elvis II.
