Meeting Description

"Unit Testing with JKI VI Tester"

LabVIEW Champion Casey will discuss unit testing with JKI VI Tester. He will start with a brief intro to the tool and some xUnit test background. Then Casey will work through live demos using the tool. Casey will start with some simple tests and then move to more advanced tests and some reuse test patterns. Finally he will talk about integrating Automated Testing into the development process and how he incorporates passing of unit testing into his Continuous Integration (CI) scheme for multiple projects.

Presenter: Casey Lamers from Phoenix Nuclear Labs Est. Duration: 40 minutes + 20 minutes for Q&A

"Continuous Integration"

Software developers have long understood the benefits Continuous Integration provides, including early warning of broken code or conflicting changes, automatic regression testing for all changes, and constant access to a current stable build.  But the barrier to entry for most LabVIEW developers has been too high.  Drawing on the experiences of the larger LabVIEW architect community, Allen and Brandyn are developing a toolset and guidelines for implementing CI in a LabVIEW environment using Jenkins.  They will present the current state of their project, and show an early version of one of the core components, a web service that automatically tests and builds a LabVIEW executable.  They will also discuss the roadmap for functionality they hope to deliver over the next year.

Presenter: Brandyn Adderley and Allen C. Smith from NI Est. Duration: 45 minutes + 10 minutes for Q&A
