Meeting Tuesday, May 17, 2016 1) LabVIEW Codegen Engine for Fast, Template-Based Scripting. 2) Property Inspector 2.0

Meeting Topics

  • Topic 1: Using the LabVIEW Codegen Engine for Fast, Template-Based Scripting
  • Duration: 45 minutes + Q&A
  • Description:  The most efficient way to do LabVIEW scripting is to write VIs of the pieces you would use and copy them to the VI of interest. LabVIEW ships with a code generation engine which quickly and efficiently automates this template based scripting. It has been used internally for fifteen years and was exposed to general users in LabVIEW 7.0. It was dramatically improved for LabVIEW 8.6, with major stability and efficiency enhancements, many of which are not easily accessible to external users. If you do any major scripting, you should seriously consider using the LabVIEW codegen engine. Come find out why.
  • Presenters: DFGray
  • Attached is a zip file containing the presentation, code and the pdf that Damien referred to in his presentation.

  • Topic 2: Property Inspector 2.0
  • Duration: 45 minutes + Q&A
  • Description: The Property Inspector is a toolkit available via the LabVIEW Tools Network. Automate VI development by displaying, searching and editing multiple VI properties. Instantly finds and fixes many problems impossible from the LabVIEW project window. Now including VI Analyzer and Quick Drop Scripting.

As usual, we will do our best to record the sessions and post them later at youtube.com/laftracks

However, technical issues can happen and no promises are made

Regards,

Fab
