There's always so much to see, learn, and do at NIWeek. Over the next two months, we'll feature NIWeek highlights to get you excited about what NIWeek 2011 has to offer.

Up first is the Aerospace and Defense Summit. This summit will show you how to address the entire life cycle of systems ranging from creating flexible, software-defined test systems to deploying real-time embedded systems for control, monitoring, and operation. Summit presenters include experts from Tobyhanna Army Depot, Elbit Systems of America, and Raytheon Company.

Aerospace and Defense Summit sessions include:

  • The State of Legacy Automated Test Systems in DoD Depots – Learn about the key issues that drive depot automated test system equipment requirements and a technical strategy for their modernization
  • A Scalable Common Architecure Tester for Cost-Effective, High Product Mix Testing – Discover how one company created a scalable common architecture test system  and expanded its test support capability
  • Design Considerations for Building a Rugged Field Test Instrument – Gain real-world insight and lessons learned for using CompactRIO in building rugged field test systems for military applications
  • NASA Launch Vehicle Hydro-Dynamic Suspension System – Examine a case study in large-scale SCADA system architecture using CompactRIO, LabVIEW, IEEE 1588 time synchronization and extensive HMI visualization
  • Using a Tiered Common Test Platform Architecture for Cost-Effecitive High Product Mix Automated Test – Discuss strategies for driving a common test platform that allow for broad adoption across product lines while maintaining flexibility to address unique test needs
  • Creating a High-Speed, Low-Power, Portable Data Acquisition System – Hear how one company used NI Single-Board RIO contained in a backpack to develop a portable data acquisition system that monitors power consumption of devices carried on and by a soldier
