cannot connect to Real-Time target and cRio imaging tool problems

after much trouble with the labview software i finaly reinstalled the whole installation and everything seemed to work. my current problem is now caused when i try to use the cRIO Imaging Tool and when i try to upload a program to the cRIO. i assume the Real-Time target issue is cause by not being able to image the cRIO. It says either my IP or subnet is wrong when i attempt to use the cRIO Imaging Tool. I am using a personal computer but i have the driver station completely up to date and running. if i understand right my IP Address should be 10.32.40.6 (team # 3240 Go team Orion!) and my subnet is 255.0.0.0 however when i run the cRIO imaging tool its says that the cRIO is on 10.0.0.2. i have tried both 10.0.0.2 & 10.32.40.6 for the IP and 255.255.255.0 and 255.0.0.0 for subnet. IS there something im doing wrong? or am i doing it right and i just need to reinstall something again? i have read on the FIRST site and alot of people say to just switch computers, i was working till 8 tonight and wanted to give up but that will be the very first thing i do tomorow morning. but i was still hoping for some insight as to my issues, i'm already a week behind on my bench tests cause of the labView issue and i REALLY need it to be working ASAP

please and thank you in advance for any effort

Hi Andrew,

The first step is to make sure that the computer and the cRIO are in the same subnet.  This may alleviate some issues with networking.

I suggest setting your computer IP to 10.0.0.6 with a subnet of 255.0.0.0.  This will definitely place the computer in the same subnet as the cRIO and help with other temporary networking issues. Also, try using the orange crossover cable to connect directly to the cRIO.  This will alleviate any wireless issues you may have.

What is the exact error message you are seeing with the cRIO Imaging Tool?

Good Luck!

The error I am getting is "The specified IP address is unreachable. Ensure that the IP address is on the correct subnet". i have been using the jump over cable the whole time. And i tried the first suggestion of 10.0.0.6 and that didnt help. On the imaging tool it says the IP for our cRIO is 10.32.40.2

Hi Andrew_Markley1,

Also, make sure that you are enterting in your team number in the cRIO Imaging Tool when you try to format it.

Hi Andrew,

If you set your computer's IP address to something the same subnet (i.e. 10.32.40.10) and the subnet mask to 255.0.0.0, can you ping the cRIO?

Hi Andrew,

Make sure that you are enabling Teleop mode (or Autonomous Mode) on the Driver Station. By default both modes are disabled.
