Motor Control Example

Just wondering if anyone has been able to run the 'Motor Control Example' provided with the 2010 FRC LabVIEW install? I have tried to use it by just clicking the run button. It successfully uploads to the cRIO and the run button changes to the running button. However the Jaguar's motor control indicator continues to blink. Since I am able to use the Gyro Example successfully by clicking the run button, I assumed that I could do the same with the motor example.

Please note I did change the motor open vi setting from Victor to Jaguar. Also in addition to running the Gyro Example I am also able the run the FRC cRio Default code.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Did you press Enable on the Driver Station?  For everything, including the examples, make sure you've pressed the Enable button for Teleoperated mode.

Also, double check your connections and the module slots you've referenced.

Good Luck!

Also double check that you have a jumper for the channel you are using for the PWM signal

I did not use the Driver Station. I assumed that it could not be used with a stand alone vi and also the Gyro Example did not require the use of the Driver Station. I will try you suggestion. Thanks!

Using the Driver Station worked!

Any idea why the Gyro example could work without the Driver Station?

Thanks!

The driver station is required for the robot to output anything. It's not required to read inputs, like the gyro.

The jumper is only required for a servo. Since he wants to control a Jaguar, it's not required.
