Position Summary:
The Engineering Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) invites applications for an Accelerator Safety and Configuration Control Engineer (ACE) to develop, implement and maintain the configuration management program and the safety basis documents for Berkeley Lab accelerators, working collaboratively across several laboratory divisions.
This critical role will be primary point person to maintain and update the accelerator safety basis documents including the Safety Assessment Documents (SAD), Accelerator Safety Envelopes (ASE) and the Unreviewed Safety Issue Determinations (USID).
In collaboration with the EH&S division and the scientific partner divisions, the ACE will ensure appropriate procedures, systems, and controls are in place for the full implementation of Department of Energy (DOE) approved ASEs. Additionally, the position supports requirements management and systems engineering.
