Installing LabVIEW 8.6.1 on Redhat Enterprise 6 64bit

ok, we tried to run the locale command as Randy advised us above, but there was an error running that command, that we couldn't solve...

So we decided to retry installing LV on a brand new installation of RHEL6.

We added packages from Randy's rpm_list file, and another one (zlib-1.2.3-25.el6.i686) that was missing to install LV.

Everything worked ok, and we launched LV with success. The list of needed package is enclosed (some of them may be unuseful, but in doubt...)

Thank you Randy for the support.

Was this a new machine or the same machine? I'm just currious. Thanks.

And you are very welcome for the support. I'm glad to know things are working for you. There is an issue with building executables and then running them with versions before LabVIEW 2011 because of SELinux issues. To resolve this issue, run as root:

execstack -s /usr/local/lv86/AppLibs/lvapp.lib

Glad I could be of service.

That was the same machine, with RHEL6 reinstalled from scratch.

Maybe there was a bad install of something. I guess that happens from time to time. Glad everything is working and thanks for answering my questions as well.
