Show Selected (or moused over) VI in context help

One advantage of the palette over quick drop is you can see the context help for the VI you are looking at. It would be nice if the same was available in quick drop. I have run into this issue when using the sound and vibration toolkit a lot, where there are so many different FFT options, and I want to filter by the name "FFT" but then I can't see how each differs from another. So I end up going to the palette.

This sounded vaguely familiar, and then I realized there was an Idea Exchange post about it (that for some strange reason I hadn't kudoed yet!).  Here's the link, I agree that this would be useful functionality.

I agree that it would be largely helpful, but somehow this one never really got any traction.  Too bad, but perhaps it can be revived...

Hm, I think I hear Darren volunteering to do it on his free time anyways! . Would it be too difficult? I'm sure internally you can hook into the context help relatively easily.

I don't know what kind of hooks there are for context help.  I'll try to find some time to look into it.

I even posted it as a lonely orphan.  Nice to see the kudoes go up!

I came here looking to see if this idea had gotten any new traction, and I am very disappointed to see that it remains a "lonely orphan".  I see this as the most useful enhancement that QD needs to acheive a surge in adoption.

The idea lives! No promises, but I think I can get this implemented in LabVIEW 2020.
