Scan Engine & EtherCAT Custom Device Feedback

Hi/Bonjour Yohann,

In addition to Jiri's Answer, can you let us know what are the reasons behind playing with Custom Device source code?

Regards

Vincent

Thanks a lot Jiri,

(I guess you don't remember me, but i was in the training you provided in Toulouse in april 2013)

The reason why i want to access source code is not really related with Scan Engin & Ethercat. In fact i am looking for examples of easy and efficient ways to deal with custom devices versioning. I have done several searchs in NI website but didn't find many informations about this.

Hi yledieu, it is hard to guess based on nick name 🙂

Great to hear, that you are working with NI VeriStand.

Yep, Scan Engine CD is nice example.

Automotive Engine simulation is also nice addon to check:

Hi,

I'm having a problem with setting up a new cRIO. My cRIO is a 9074. I have a couple of modules and a simulation model I compiled using matlab. I have setup a brand new project and I have only added the scan engine and the chasis without any modules. I have not added my simulation model. When I try to deply I get the follwoing error:

The VeriStand Gateway encountered an error while deploying the System Definition file.

Details:

Error 1003 occurred at Project Window.lvlib:Project Window.vi >> Project Window.lvlib:Command Loop.vi >> NI_VS Workspace ExecutionAPI.lvlib:NI VeriStand - Connect to System.vi

Possible reason(s):

LabVIEW:  The VI is not executable.  This error may occur because the VI is either broken or contains a subVI that LabVIEW cannot locate. Select File>>Open to open the VI and verify that you can run it.

=========================

NI VeriStand:  Open VI Reference in Custom Devices Storage.lvlib:Open Device Reference (HW Interface).vi->Custom Devices Storage.lvlib:Initialize Device (HW Interface).vi->NI VeriStand Engine.lvlib:Initialize Inline Custom Devices.vi->NI VeriStand Engine.lvlib:VeriStand Engine State Machine.vi->NI VeriStand Engine.lvlib:VeriStand Engine.vi->NI VeriStand Engine.lvlib:VeriStand Engine Wrapper (RT).vi<APPEND>

Do you have any sugestions?

Thanks!

Hi, Thanks for the reply,

I believe I have the required software installed. I've attached a screenshot of the NIMAX software. Please let me know if I'm missing something. (I am not using an ethercat)

Thanks

It appears as though you are missing the NI-RIO IO Scan driver. Please install this item to the target and redeploy.

Hi

We can find Scan Engine &Ether CAT custom devices in two platforms NI and Github. Which is the compatible/correct one for 2014 version of NI veristand. Simlalry, I need Engine Simulation ( not toolkit, the old version ) custom devices for 2014 version. Please post me the links for that.
