National Instruments has acquired GDS and made it FREE

Newsflash TODAY:

National Instruments has acquired the Symbio GOOP Development Suite. It is now available through the LabVIEW Tools Network for FREE. The VIs have had the passwords removed as well, making it more extensible.

If you make changes to the toolkit that you wish to share with the community, please upload them here. NI will consider submitted changes for integration into future versions of the GDS.

My personal thanks to Mikael Holmstrom who has developed and maintained the GDS all these years. I'm thrilled that this tool is now available to the LabVIEW community generally.

Very excited about this! This is my favorite toolkit and I can't wait to look at the VIs without passwords.

Also, I can not believe I didn't know this community existed until today.

Thank you Stephen for your efforts and thank you Mikael for making such an useful tool. I have closed so many deals with customers that think they have a code that nobody can figure out just by using the reverse engineering feature in UML. Thank you, thank you, thank you

As the North American distributor and official support resource of the Endevo/Symbio GOOP Development Suite for over 10 years (and the producer of the VISTA Class Generator before that - anyone remember that? ), we're excited to share in the announcement that it has been acquired by National Instruments, and is now available as a free download on the LabVIEW Tools Network.

Improved OO class creation and editing experiences, templates for common object-oriented (OO) patterns and round-trip UML generation from source code for all! Hazaah!

PS: A huge thank you to Mike Holmstrom for his pioneering work - LabVIEW is so much better thanks to your involvement.

Will there be code released here for LV2012 or earlier? I presume the Symbio code base was developed in LV2010 given the support back to that version - has this now been shifted to LV2013?
