LIFA Replacement - Everyone Should Upgrade To LINX Now!

Hey Everyone,

In case you haven't heard, I've been working on a replacement for LIFA called LINX, and I'm happy to announce that LINX officially released today.  LINX includes all of the features of LIFA as well as:

  • Firmware wizard to automatically deploy firmware (no more building from source...unless you want to)
  • Support for many more sensors
  • Support for more devices (not Just Arduino Uno and Mega)
    • You can now deploy LINX code to run headlessly on the NI myRIO.
  • Wifi and Ethernet support on select devices
  • Fully open source and hosted on GitHub

I encourage everyone to upgrade to LINX by following the Getting Started with LINX tutorial here and join us in the LINX forums here to ask questions and show us what you're working on.

Thanks!

After almost 3 years of standstill with LIFA, finally LINX provides continuation!

Thanks for the great support in the past, Sam, and keep it up!

PS: Does this mean that LINX also became available as a standard NI package repository in the VI- PackageManager (JKI VPIM), just like LIFA?

If so, maybe the getting started tutorial should be reworked a bit, since it still refers to an external download:

Are you referring to the Duinobot Miltiplo Robot Brain?   See:

If not please post a link to the board you are referring to.

andresvargas92  Although I do have 'mega" board, but I have not used it with Lix yet. I have used LINX with Uno and better yet DIGILENT's  ChipKit32 (with plenty of I/O s. Strongly suggest you give it a try. LINX install better than lifa and and works with much less headache than its predecessor. Many kudos to Sammy_K and I can not wait for the official release of version 1.1. Regards, Barddya

You need to ask your question in the LINX forum.
