TDMS vs EDF vs PhysioBank file format

Hi everyone!

I sarted to work with LabVIEW Biomedical Toolkit about a month ago and have some data written in .TDMS file format. I saw that Labview also supports .EDF and .PhysioBank file formats. Can you tell me what are the greatest advantages/disadvantages of named formats?

I want to choose the appropriate one for my work and I am still doubting, so if you have some advice, it'll be of a great help.

Thank you in advance!

Hi,

It is really hard to say. If you are using LabVIEW and NI tools, TDMS is definitely recommended  , since TDMS is well compatible with NI "ecosystem". When you would like to share data with others,  sometimes you have to convert to the file formats others accept. As you said, the Biomedical Toolkit also supports to export to EDF and Phyisobank files.

Hope it helps.

Thanks!

I'm having some serious trouble using the converter tool. See https://decibel.ni.com/content/thread/25935?tstart=0
