2014 Support

Hey all,

Any word on what the compatibility of GDS 2013 is like with LV 2014? I tried installing GDS 2013 with LV2014 but it seemed to really kill my load times. Has anyone else tried it or know when the official 2014 version will come out?

Hi,

I would guess that your extended load time is due to the fact that the toolkit VIs are recompiled from 2013->2014 on each load. The changes are not saved since they are locked (but not password protected).

You should try unlocking / mass compile / locking the GDS VIs.

Yes, NI's GDS is only compiled for 2013 yet.

You can manually re-compile all VIs in the folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2014\resource\Framework\Providers\Symbio_GDS

Or wait for NI to release a 2014 version.

For some reason I thought the installer did this automatically. Doing it manually fixed the issue. Thanks guys
