SLUGs Meeting September 8th, 2015

Hello,

I would like to invite you to attend the next meeting of the Seattle LabVIEW User Group.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 8th at the DigiPen Institute of Technology campus:

9931 Willows Road Northeast

Redmond, WA 98052

Map: https://goo.gl/maps/GVEZX

The meeting starts at 7pm and will adjourn at 9pm.  Pizza will be served.

Chris Collier will be presenting.

Synopsis of presentation:

------

Do you have common tasks which you perform all the time?  Are they used in multiple programs you develop? Is the only thing stopping you from re-using old software the fact that the program runs tasks in the wrong order and it would take too long to re-order them?  Well, have I got a solution for you!  Sequencing!  If there are tasks with re-use value that you keep dropping into new programs you write, you might want to think about sequencing.  Come to the next SLUG meeting, and I’ll demonstrate the flexibility of a sequencing engine, and how you can write your own.

Be prepared to learn some Object Oriented design, and bring an example widget we can build to plug into the engine to show flexibility.  I will attempt to have code available before the meeting so that those who are curious can come with good questions and comments.

Bring a critical mind and we will discuss the pros and cons of different architecture choices, as well as off-the-shelf vs do-it-yourself methods.

------

Hope to see you there!

I will send out more details with signup links and links to the presentation and any files being shared as we get closer to the event.

Remember, this event is now at TALOS EMBEDDED SYSTEMS in Redmond.  We are combining the SLUGs meeting and our annual NI BBQ.

Note:  There are 2 new NI Field Engineers based in Seattle and a new Inside Sales Engineer as well.  They will ALL be at this event.  So please register and stop by to meet the new team!

Thanks Jared.

I think you ment to say Bellevue, not Redmond, however.  Right?
