I'm facing a strange problem with NI-VISA on my Ubuntu 10.04 install. I have a custom VI that modified the visaconf.ini file in /usr/local/vxipnp/linux/NIvisa folder so that the user can just enter the serial block name (/dev/ttyS0 ec) and the VISA resource details are written into ASRL1::INSTR...and it is generated automatically. Now, I cannot view the newly created VISA resource through the LV pull down menu....but if I enter is statically, it works just fine. I've never seen this happen before, can someone suggest on why am I not able to view the resource in the VISA drop down menu...? I've attached my visaconf.ini file.
