Abstract: A nuclear fusion particle accelerator demands a complex and critical control system. Phoenix Nuclear Labs developed a system to safely and remotely operate a nuclear fusion particle accelerator using modular NI hardware and software to break down the machine into testable pieces. Phoenix engineers used the Actor Framework to write actors that use equipment in a 300 kV dangerous neutron environment, interface with the FPGA, and log data.
