Best Practices for Acting on Big Data

ID: TS5057

Abstract: Many organizations are investing significant sums in creating and filling the "data lake"-the collection of structured and unstructured data that provides the broadest context around equipment we've ever known. However, data doesn't solve problems, so engineers need methodologies, tools, and techniques to find value in that data. The process of acquire, analyze, and act is worthless without the act phase, yet Big Data is often a technology looking for a problem. At this session, explore some of the issues Rolls-Royce faced and solutions it used to deliver equipment health management services for more than 12,000 jet engines.

Track/Summit: Big Analog Data Systems

Speaker(s): Nick Ward, Senior Product Manager Controls & Data Services
