Job Description:           QA Automation Engineer

Summary:

RGB Spectrum is looking for an experienced QA automation test engineer to design, build, and deploy effective test automation solutions for testing high-end visual communications solutions that are rich in video, signal processing and control functionality. 

Responsibilities:

· To fulfill this role the QA automation engineer will need to select, design, and implement appropriate automation framework technologies and tools to meet the short and long term goals of the testing organization. •

· Work closely with engineering to design and build a comprehensive library of automated test suites and utilities

· Stay up to date on general knowledge of software architecture and SDLC

· Able to suggest and implement improvements to framework/utilities

· Advanced understanding of test frameworks

· Capable of writing simple to advanced test utilities

· Require little supervision for work tasks and minimal guidance for development of skills and career

· Track progress against assigned goals and regularly report status to the QA manager

· Analyze product requirements and generate test plans, grids and equipment requirements.

· Propose and implement test automation improvements to increase test coverage and reduce net test time.

Qualifications & Requirements:

· 3+ years software quality engineering background

· Expertise in one or more of these: Java, C, C++, C#, or Python

· Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test suites

· Experience with test plan and test case development, test execution, defect reporting, and resolution management

· Capable of assembling, troubleshooting, and configuring large video systems with PC and consumer sources, video extenders, wall processors and switchers and display systems.

· Good video system troubleshooting skills.

· Knowledge of video standards and terms: RGB, DVI, HDMI, composite, S-Video, Display Port, HDCP, EDID, hot plug.

· Strong verbal communications skills to support debugging with engineers and other technical staff.

· Work well under pressure and independently

Bonus Skills:

· National Instruments testing hardware and software

· Experience with Quantum Data test generators.

· Experience with network installations and configuration
