Quadrature Encoder measurements with PXI-6143 S-Series DAQ

I was using a 12V power supply. I will try your suggestion of adding a resistor to the inputs.

Thanks,

Very good. Though you are using 12V, still tie the resistors to the 5V pin of the DAQ card so you do not exceed their maximum input voltage specification.

I think part of the problem may be with my SCB-68 connector block. When I use a meter (with power supply off) to probe pin37 (PFI8/CTR0 source) and ground I measure 5V, I also measure 5V from P0.6 to ground, therfore the counter is always reading 5V and never see's a change in state. It must be getting the 5V signal directly from the PXI. Is there a setting that can be changed on the SCB-68 block, or would you suspect a short somewhere?
