How to duplicate a module?

I have a project with several DQMH modules. I'd like to make some changes on one of the modules which slightly alters its behavior. As the module is already used in several places and like to duplicate it and start modifying the new copy. So the question is, how can I create a completely independent copy of a given module?

One idea which guess would work is to create a template from the module and then create a module from the new template, but I'm wondering if there is a less hacky way to make a copy.

The workaround listed is relatively painless though... you can create a DQMH Module Template, but point it to source code instead of making a template copy.
