Here's one more. NI has announced the next virtual user group meeting topic. Join LabVIEW Product Manager, Eli Kerry, on Wednesday, November 10 at 11:00 a.m. CT for a discussion on best practices for software development in LabVIEW.

Best Practices for Software Development
As software becomes rapidly more complex and plays a growing role in mission-critical applications, developers need to abide by established software engineering practices in order to ensure that an application is reliable, safe and fault tolerant.  This presentation will examine the typical development life cycle and explain the best practices and recommendations for programming with LabVIEW in a structured development environment. Topics will include configuration management, tracking and identifying changes that are made to code, requirements gathering, code architecture, ensuring proper style guidelines, validation of code, dynamic code analysis, and professional deployment practices. Register today!

Our next ALARM meeting is on December 9th at 6:30 pm.  It will be held in rooms 415/417 of the UMC on the CU campus in Boulder.

Craig Eidson, LabVIEW Architect from Optimation Technology, will be giving a presentation on "XML in LabVIEW". LabVIEW offers several different libraries and add-ons for using this universally accessible file format. Craig will be covering different ways of using XML within LabVIEW as well as some of the pitfalls and challenges developers will face when working with this file type.

Steve Solga and Dave Thomson will talk about circular buffers.  Dave will present an example of a data acquisition program he's working on that uses a custom built circular buffer based on a functional global with convenient accessor methods.  Steve will then offer up a new idea for a short-cut to a high-performance circular buffer using lossy queues.

Please sign up with NI for this event so that we can get an accurate count for the pizza order.
