Triggering vb.net event from USB6501 digital input

I am kind of new to vb.net so this might be simple. I have a USB6501 connected to my circuit and can read the inputs and set the outputs. I need to have 2 of the inputs trigger events in my program. I have searched but cannot find any discussion or example of how to make this work. Can any one point me to a solution?

Never mind, I finally found a link that says the USB-6501 does not support change detection. I guess I will have to implement it with a timer and polling.
