FTC Toolkit Install Issue

When I try to install the FTC Toolkit 2012-2013, everything looks ok, but I can not install it because I have Labview for Legomindstorms 2012, not 2010 and it will not allow me to install it. Any suggestions?

Hi John,

It's been awhile since I've played with FTC stuff, but I can suggest a couple of things.

The software setup page here, https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-17997 has a link to the download for LV for LMS 2010 here, http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2634

According to the docs, your serial number should activate that 2010 version.  At the very least, you should be able to get up and running for the trial duration.

Beyond that, you might be able to use a tool like Orca, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa370557%28v=vs.85%29.aspx  to have a look at the installer.  I've had success in the past convincing installers to allow things they were otherwise rejecting.

Good luck.

I received the same message.  I.e. with a fresh install of LVLM 2012, when I attempted to install this year's FTC Toolkit, the message "NI LabView 2010 (32-bit) must be installed before you can install NI Labview 2010 LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Module".  Does this mean that I need to have both LVLM 2010 and LVLM 2012 installed on my computer before I can install the Toolkit for this year?  If so, does it matter what order I install the different versions?

Thanks,

The FTC Toolkit 2012-2013 installer requires that LabVIEW for LEGO MINDSTORMS (LVLM) 2010 is installed. So like pallen mentioned you can download and install LVLM 2010 from the website, then run the FTC Toolkit 2012-2013 installer after.

LVLM 2012 SP1 was released back in March and will be used in the upcoming FTC season. The new FTC Toolkit will be available at kickoff in September, and it will depend on LVLM 2012 SP1 being installed. So until kickoff you can use LVLM 2010 SP1 and FTC Toolkit 2012-2013.
