I ended up having to revert to a commit that was two revisions before I cloned the class to 'uncorrupt' my class - so I'm no longer sure if cloning the class corrupted the VI or if the VI was corrupt and cloning the VI created two corrupt classes. Its very possible its the latter - which makes me wonder how my VI was corrupt in the first place ... oi - I am really grateful for source code control !
