Adding serial comm to drivers with only GPIB support

Is there a quick and easy way to add the option for a serial interface for drivers that only currently support GPIB with out going into the block diagram of each vi. and adding a case for RS-232 comms? I am looking at modifing the drivers for agilent_esa_psa_series that I got from NI . Thanks in advance for the help. Keith

It's possibly only necessary to modify the intialize function. In there, you would have a case to initialize/configure the port. If the instrument requires a single termination character in serial mode, it would be added there and no other modifications would be necessary. Look at the shipping example of the ag34401 driver. The intialize function there does exactly what I jsut described. Modify as necessary for your instrument.
