Are there any good tutorials on how to create a VISA driver for an Ethernet device?

I have a custom device that is built by our company and I would like to see if  I can control it through LabView to

help automate the testing portion of this device.

The device has an Ethernet port and a USB port and I would like to control both as there are defined commands

for this device but  I am not sure where to begin.

Any advice is appreciated

There are the guidelines at http://www.ni.com/downloads/instrument-drivers/.

They are most useful if the instrument's firmware was designed to be compatible in the first place. Is it a USBTMC, or VXI-11, or LXI? Does it use standard SCPI?
