Backup hard drive on PXI8186

Hi,

I have a PXI 8186 P4   2.2 GHz controller with Windows XP, and I need to insert another hard drive to do backup.

Is there the possibility to have two hard drives installed on my PXI, and select which hard drive will boot?

If the hard driver damage, what is the better solution, easier and faster to restart the PXI with other hard drive (image of primary drive)?

Thank you.

Hi Hugo,

The 8186 can boot from several types of external drives.  Check out this KnowledgeBase for a description of the possibilities.  It also has links to instructions on how to change the controller's BIOS settings to choose which drive to boot from.

Hope this helps!
