Yes, I am using the 1287 with this. The ZPlot software uses an NI GPIB board so the spy program, or I/O Trace as it's now called can run while the zplot software is running.
I will have to learn a little more on how to initialize different instrument (GPIB). My only other experience about a year ago was writing some testing software but it was on a pxi 1042 platform. It's a little different than the GPIB.
I do have the manual, what I'm going to do is break it down step by step using the i/o trace and see if I can mimic the current application.
I will post back here later on today with my results.

Ok, got the test running and correct results... Probably 50-100 commands to get the test and run the test. I just went line by line with the I/O Trace and mimic'd the commands. Nice to have a working solutions in which I can copy off of.
Also nice that they were already using a NI board so I can get all the info that I needed.
I just have to cleanup the interface and put the results into the database and I am finished.
Thanks!
