Hello
I am communicating to a serial device connected to a cRio NI9076 succesfully using NI VISA. It has only one rs232 connector.
Now I need to connect two additional serial periphical devices to the cRio NI9076, which has only one rs232 port. Can I use an rs232 hub and still communicate using NI VISA? Will MAX recognize this?
Thank you!

Hello Manuel,
the problem with HUB is that most of them need a driver to be installed and it's very difficult to found one compatible with OS Real Time. In any case there are a couple of solutions for your question.
You can either use a "passive" hub that does not need a driver like: ENET-232 or ENET-485
Can I Use the ENET-232 or ENET-485 on Systems with VISA Support Only?

or you a module 9870, 4-Port, RS232 Serial Interface Module for CompactRIO

I hope this help,

Thank you for the hints.
I think the module could be a solution. Another thing I suppose I could do is to simply use an RS232 to USB converter, like this one:

and directly connect it to the Host PC.
