New features in InstrumentStudio 2019:
SMUs
- Waveform or “digitizer” mode for digitizing transients up to 1.8 MS/s
- Sequence and pulse mode in both charting and waveform panels, including automatic hardware synchronization across multiple devices
- SourceAdapt settings to customize the transient response to any load
- Asymmetric limits and software protection ranges to protect DUTs from overvoltage/current conditions
- Compact view (for high channel counts), power calculation, and option to hide idle channels
Example load transient test using waveform mode, sequence mode, and SourceAdapt tuning
Oscilloscopes
- Same-model oscilloscopes in the same panel are automatically hardware synchronized with NI-TClk technology
- Synchronization is internally optimized to minimize resync time and jitter for better performance
- Added power spectral density measurements to FFT channels
Three PXIe-5164 combine to functionally make a six-channel oscilloscope
Waveform Generators
- Added ability to generate arbitrary waveforms from binary files (in addition to CSV)
- Added debug monitoring/control and configuration file export for parity with other instruments
DMMs
- Added inductance/capacitance measurements
- Added open and short cable compensation
General
- Export instrument configurations to TestStand for test step configuration and parametric sweep workflow
- TSM pin map alias support for debugging alongside TestStand Semiconductor Module using pin and site names
- Oscilloscope and DCPower panels can now trigger from another instrument in the system by configuring a digital trigger and selecting the source based on the device name
- Hosted applications – can run a custom .NET plugin alongside other instrument panels, like for DUT control
Export a starting point configuration from InstrumentStudio to TestStand
Create instrument sessions, configure parametric sweep loop settings, and perform example DC efficiency test
Example .NET plugin - hosting a Note Taker within the InstrumentStudio environment
As of this writing, the latest 19.1 driver versions of NI-SCOPE, NI-FGEN, NI-DMM, and NI-DCPower all install InstrumentStudio 2019. You can also install InstrumentStudio 2019 directly through NI Package Manager or the download page here.
