Image Lasso Zoom

It would be really nice if you added a "Lasso Zoom" to your image control.  We work with really large images and it takes either a lot of button clicks or custom code to zoom in to specific regions.  This is pretty standard on most other imaging tools.

What image control? Are you referring to something in LabVIEW or something installed by one of the modules? I don't know of any image control in LabVIEW itself that has any sort of editing capacities (other than the icon editor and I'm pretty sure you're not referring to that).

I am pretty sure this is for the IMAQ image display control.

Ah... Ok... I'll flag an appropriate person on the IMAQ module team then.

Hi John,

I guess you are refering to a lasso region of interest selection. Because the zoom functionality is already implemented. Anyhow I have seen this feature in a lot of image edeting software packages like Photoshop but not in image analysis and processing software. Do you use a specific third party vision toolkit or vision library that offers this feature?

Thanks,

Elmar

PS: I forwarded this feature request to the IMAQ R&D team.

Yes this is found in tools like ImageJ and other image analysis/editing packages.  It is simply a ROI zoom.  Some of our images are 24K x 34k and if I want to zoom into a few hundred pixels I need to click the zoom a million times or write my own tool.  Seems like this would be very useful to zoom a specific area of the image.

The indicator is "Image Display" on the Vision palette.
