Left justify text in unbundle / bundle by name

Status: New

Re-opening because LabVIEW NXG has been discontinued.

Currently text in an "unbundle by name" node is centered. This makes for poor readability when there are several elements being unbundled.

I think that changing the justification from center to left does improve readability.

Note 01: This apply to bundle by name as well.

Note 02: implementing this idea my gave us this one for free.

Available in LabVIEW NXG 1.0. In a Cluster Property Node, all 'write' item names are left-justified, and all 'read' item names are right-justified.

Hmmm... I can't see how right-justify improves the situation. Isn't it as messy as centered?

To achieve better readability with bundle/unbundle of nested clusters, shouldn't the text always be left-justified?

(Or is the "Cluster Property Node" in NXG something totally different from Un/Bundle By Name in traditional LabVIEW?)

The Cluster Property Node replaces both the bundle and unbundle nodes in LV NXG. There is a single Property Node that can handle properties of types, whether those properties are backed by fields (clusters/classes) or methods (refnums/classes/typedefs [new in NXG]).

As for the left/right justification -- we decided not to change CurGen and its long-standing behavior and left it to NXG usability experts to evaluate. This is the decision NXG made. If you are a user of NXG and decide that this is a bad decision, please file a new Idea Exchange request specific to NXG, and we'll see what response that provokes, both from the community and from NXG R&D.
