Remove MY from application and installer

Status: Declined
See AristosQueue's comment below for technical reason.

Simple suggestion, when creating an application or installer in a project you get "My application", remove the "My". It's an Application. Noone ever starts "My Excel" and "Your Word".

Cleaner and a userful name to boot, win win!

The reason for the "My" is to avoid confusion among users about what string they need to fill in there. It clearly indicates "this is not a configuration option for which you need to supply a specific string but is instead text that you can freely change." The word "Application" by itself is equally unlikely to be used (i.e. by your same argument, noone ever starts "Application") and so deleting the "My" does not add any value for any users (experienced or novice); deleting it only detracts value from those who are encountering the dialog for the first time.

AristosQueue said it perfectly. You need to specify a name and the "My" emphasises this need.

Well i usually leave the Application name for the build name (remove the 'my'), but change the .exe-name, which is actually set to application.exe as default.

That way i get Application and Installer, and if sorted by name do it in the right order with Build all.
