"Maximum Undo Step by VI" should default to 99 (and not to 8).

Status: Completed
Available in NI LabVIEW 2010
I think that the "Maximum Undo Step by VI" default value (Tools>Options>Environment) should be changed form 8 to the maximum of 99. For every new LabVIEW version I install, I end up changing this (from 8 to 99).

I'm like altenbach and seldom run in the current undo limit of 8. And this is presumably because I started with LabVIEW 2.2 where something "useless" Smiley Wink as undo simply didn't exist.

I like altenbachs analogy with the wild boar. Smiley Very Happy

And why does the Undo list get wiped out when a VI is saved?  I don't like that behavior...

I agree with Altenbach - I do NOT change the default from 8.  I save often so that negates the big undo.

I think it is important to think before you wire.

I agree with this idea... there's no reason it shouldn't be 99 by default. Look for this to be changed in 2010 unless something explodes.

I'll add my vote to increase the limit to 99. Actually, while you're at it. Lock it at 99 and remove the setting altogether.

For those of you against raising the limit. I ask why? What are the negatives, if any? Is it more a mental roadblock or is there a real problem here?
