Currently working with a project requires classifying engines based on their acoustic signatures, and planning to use Hidden Markov Models. We need to capture multiple channels (8 now) of acoustic data (audio range/16/24Ksps) and use beamforming to localize sources. Then from the incoming stream, recognize the class of engine that currently present on the scene at near realtime speeds, based on the previously learned models. Which is the advisable hardware platform best suitable for the application? CompactRIO/PXI?
Although CompctRIO have an FPGA onboard and rugged, is it capable of acquiring 8 channels of acoustic data, simultaneously doing HMM at realtime? Or is it better to go with PXI platforms?
Have searched a lot on HMMs on LabVIEW, but found nothing relevant.
Any guidelines appreciated
