Looking to add NI_Database_API to LabVIEW 2020 if possible

Solved!
Go to solution

I have an old project I am trying to bring up to LabVIEW 2020. It is using VIs from NI_Database_API. Specifically I am looking to use "DB Tools Open Connection.vi". I have a library downloaded that contains all these VI's, but it is locked and I am not sure how I would be able to get all of these VIs into the program folder to be able to use them?

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

That sounds like NI's DB connectivity toolkit, which should be an option in the LV install, although I'm not exactly sure how its licensing works. Also note that it used to be 32 bit only until recently.

See if these links help you:

Ah I see. I was using 64 Bit of 2020 so it was showing as something that did not exist. Switching over to 32 Bit, and it loads up immediately. If I already own the 32 Bit of NI's DB Connectivity Toolkit, do I also have to purchase the 64 bit one separately? Or am I able to get 64 bit from when I purchased 32 bit?

You might already have it, but just didn't install it when installing LV. Check which version started support for 64 bit.
