Max 3.0 FieldPoint problem

I'm trying to set up  a FieldPoint 4.0 system. Max 3.0 finds the modules fine, but when I try to "Start Monitoring" it tells me "The module or item addressed does not exist". The galling thing is that Max found the modules in the "find Devices" step. Where does this error come from? Max found out about it all by itself, and now it rejects it?
The modules worked using an FP 1600, but now I'm using a serial FP 1000 network module.

The problem was that the module was not fully 'clicked down' onto its terminal block
