USB Dongle

Hi,

I am wondering if any one here has used a USB hardware Dongle for software licensing (compatible with LabVIEW 7.0 programming) purpose ?
What I am looking for is a Dongle which should store a unique key for my software to read from to check if the license information stored in the computer matches with the unique code in the dongle.

Thanks a lot for any help & information !

Hi Mathan,

Thanks for the link. Yes I am looking for some thing of that sort. BTW did you use them before ?

I am just wondering if it will be quite straight forward to use by just means of their DLL to access and get the program working. Any experienced programmers here to comment / recommend ?

Thanks a lot!

Warm Rgds

Hi, Deepu,

We are using this one: http://www.matrixlock.de/english/

There are no "ready for use" libraries for LabVIEW, otherwise programming is pretty easy - just call appropriate functions from given DLL directly from LabVIEW. I'm pretty happy with this - its working, no drivers required as described.

best regards,

Andrey.

Thanks to all for the links and suggestions. I am trying to get one of these and one or two other brands as well to test before finalising on one of them.

Thanks a lot indeed !

In another thread some developer recommended this product:

http://www.sg-lock.com/us/support.php

But I didn't get my hands on one of these yet.

I have never liked dongles but do have the need for securing applications.

I have been very pleased with Unikey which is a driverless dongle. You might be interested in looking at their website:

http://www.esecutech.com

They offer free Technical support and also Unikey price is reasonable.

I hope this helps.

Hi SecuTech,

can you please tell us about the experience (your private, your company's or your customer's) how your dongles fit into the LabView enviornment.

Felix, it's an advertisement, and since it doesn't present itself as such, it can also be considered spam. I can't say anything of the products that company makes, but I don't like when companies do this.
